
Joy Young is a performance and teaching spoken word artist located in Phoenix, Az. Their work enters topics pertaining to social justice through poetic personal narrative and has been featured on Button Poetry, Everyday Feminism and stages and in classrooms across the country.
Publications include Drunk in a Midnight Choir, Welcome to the New Hallelujah and University of Hell Press, We Can Make Your Life Better: A Guidebook to Modern Living (forthcoming).
Joy believes narratives are a driving force for healing— that they are a doorway through which we should consciously enter the world of social justice in hopes of creating understanding, connection and substantive change.
